Taxi Boat;

The small sea going vessels of south east asia. A taxi boat is light and fast, and can carry numorous of people, or smaller cargo loads. It's a symbol and a part of a long tradition in the thai culture, and has been used for centuries, and will continue to be used for decades to come.

Well it varies alot, I've had small trips sailing just 5 mins, and longer ones for up to 30 mins. Most of the trips between smaller islands. But when used by the natives for transportation up north, they sail down the mehkong river for days, stopping at several points. These little boats really are amazing.

In bangkok you will find the floating market, which basicly is a market on the river, here these little boats (and similar incarnations of the same design) mingle, filled with spices, meats, and other goods trading with thai's and foreiners alike. It's quite the sight, really.
